Original:
Perfect Cherry Blossom
Border of Life (Bloom Nobly, Ink-black Cherry Blossom)

白玉の楼に – As worded by the wiki, “Hakugyokurou (白玉楼, lit. “Tower of White Jade”) is a ghost shrine overlooking the Netherworld (…) The term comes from Chinese legends of the Tang Dynasty. It was said to be the place where artists go after death.”

幽明境を異にして – From an expression that means dying. 幽明境 refers to the border between dark and light, or rather, death and life. And, “Beneath this unblooming cherry tree” – The “sakura” here is written as (西行妖) the Saigyou Ayakashi.

chou yo tori yo koihitoyo
tayutau toki no manima ni
hirari harari sora wo mau
midare saita yoizakura

Butterflies and birds, in this one night of love
Drift about, at the mercy of time
Fluttering, falling, dancing in the sky
The night’s cherry blossom blooms wildly

samete kieru orokana yume demo
haru ga owaru mae ni misasete ne
yubi no sukima kara surinuketeku
jikan no suna hirou sube mo naku
hikari no chou rinpun wo koboshi
haneyasume no hana wo motometeru
fukai yoru ni ashi wo fumikomeba
kokoro no mori mou bettenchi

Even a foolish dream, disappearing when I wake
I’d like to see it, before spring comes to an end
Slipping away through my fingers, is
The sand of time I won’t be able to pick up
Butterflies of light, while spilling their scales
Look for the flowers to rest their wings

When, late at night, I step into the forest
Of my mind, it’s already another world entirely

shouja hitsumetsu esha jouri
sono kotowari ni shibararete
munashii riaru ni oboreru no wa mou
yame ni shiyou ka

“All that lives must die, those who meet must part”
How about we try to quit wallowing in
An empty reality, in which we are bound

By those principles?

hakugyoku no rou ni
tadoritsuite ukiyo hanare
miwatasu daichi
kanashimi ni afureteitemo
itsuka kisetsu ga
mata hana wo sakaseru no deshou
sono toki made wa
kasho no kuni ni nemuritai

At last arriving at the white-jade tower
Distanced from the transient world
Looking over the earth
Though brimming over with grief
One day, the seasons will surely
Make the flowers bloom again
Until that day arrives
I wish to sleep in utopia

chou yo tori yo koihitoyo
tayutau toki no manima ni
hirari harari sora wo mau
midare saita yoizakura

Butterflies and birds, in this one night of love
Drift about, at the mercy of time
Fluttering, falling, dancing in the sky
The night’s cherry blossom blooms wildly

mune ni shimiru dareka no utagoe
haru no shigure matsuge wo nurashita
sarishi hibi no karisome no kioku
tsuta no you ni karamitsuiteku

Someone’s singing pierces my heart
The spring’s drizzle drips from my eyelashes
Fleeting memories of days left far behind
Are coiling around me like ivy vines

kirisaku you ni tori wa sora wo yuku
ano joukei mata yomigaeru no
hito no yume wo ‘hakanai’ to yomeba
kono kokoro wa raku ni naru?

Birds traverse the sky, appearing to cut it
That sight, can it be brought back?
Reading people’s dreams as ‘ephemeral’
Could this heart become at ease?

yuumei sakai wo koto ni shite
sono tamashii wa doko e yuku
kono yo ni ikita koto wo wasurete mata
umare kawaru no
soredemo soredemo
kanawanai yume demo ii no
sakanai sakura no
shita de nemuritsudzuketai

Passing on from this world to the next
Where are those souls headed?
Perhaps forgetting living this life
To be born once again
Nevertheless, even then,
The dream may go unfulfilled
I wish to continue my rest
Beneath this unblooming cherry tree

haru, natsu, aki, fuyu
kisetsu sae wasureru kurai
shigan no koe mo
mou kikoenaku naru kurai
nemutte nemutte
yume ga genjitsu ni naru made
itsuka wa mieru

Spring, summer, autumn, winter
So that even those seasons are forgotten
And that the voices of this life, too
Will no longer be audible
Sleeping, sleeping,
Until dreams become reality
One day I will be able to see-

nani yori mo utsukushii hana

You, the most beautiful flower of all..

soyogu kaze ni hanafubuki
junsuitaru sono negai
shishou no rinne kurikaesu
mabuta no ura yumezakura

Swayed by the wind, flower petals rain down
With desires that are pure and genuine
As the cycle of life and death repeats itself
Behind my eyelids, I dream of the cherry blossom
